Description:
Rayed dorsal fins very short, rudimentary, inserted
above half of pectoral fin. Adipose fin absent. Pectoral
fin reaching pelvics, spine moderately strong, feebly
serrated along inner edge. Pelvic fin with a very
little inter-space between it and anal fin origin.
Anal fin long, continuous with caudal fin without
any inrter-space. Caudal fin rounded. Differs from
other species in having a long anal fin with 75 rays
and only one pair of mandibular barbels. Habitat:
Like other congeners, this species most likely inhabits
swift-flowing hillstreams with a substrate of sand
and rocks. Colouration: Uniformly
purplish black or brown.
