Habitat: This
specimen was captured by the image contributors in
a small tributary of the Rio de Las Piedras in the
Madre de Dios region, Peru in 2017. This species occurs
in the Amazon river basin of Peru and Colombia (Maldonado-Ocampo
et al. 2008, Ortega et al. 2012) and possibly in the
Napo-Pastaza basin of Ecuador (Barriga 2012). Its
type locality is "Tierra Roja an der Strasse
Campoverde - Tournavista, near Pucallpa, in the Ucayali
Deptment, Peru" (Zarske 1998). It mainly occurs
in tributaries. In Colombia this species occurs between
100 to 200 m asl. Remarks:
In the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species it is classified
as data deficient.
