FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: Sand or Gravel |

1. What substrate should I use for my Corydoras | ||

Certainly sand is the preferred option as when digging, especially the long nosed variety from Lineage 1, they will sift the sand through their gills looking for any morsels to eat. Also if you use sharp gravel the sensitive barbels on your Cory's can get bacterial infections and wear them away. If you are keen on breeding your Corydoras they will need their barbels in good condition. |
