Relevant Information:

Belongs in the Osteogaster aenea group of species, and has a wide distribution in the region. Lineage: Placed in Lineage 7 alongside other members of the so called "aeneus group" with the designated type species: C. eques. A revision and description of CW139 in the future would constitute the resurrection of the genus name Osteogaster (Cope, 1871). As of the latest update (Dias et al. 2024) Corydoras sp. (CW139) has now been placed in Lineage 7 and has the new genus name of Osteogaster. Aquarium Care: This is akin to most of this genus, very peaceful, and would be best housed with small to medium tank mates such as Tetras, Rasboras and Danios or in a species tank for breeding purposes. Diet: A good quality flake food and tablet food for adults with sporadic feedings of frozen or live food will keep your Corydoras/Osteogaster in good health. Remarks: Still found on some online sources as Corydoras sp. (CW139).
