This species occupies the same
or overlapping geographic area as Hoplisoma
gosseiandBrochis
seussi. There are no spots to head which
differentiates it from H. gossei. All of
these three mentioned species like a warmer temperature
in the aquarium. Lineage: Placed
in Lineage 9, the "short-snouted" species
with the designated type species: C. punctatus.
A revision in the future would constitute the resurrection
of the genus name Hoplisoma (Agassiz, 1846).
As of
the latest revision (Dias
et al 2024) Corydoras sp. (CW069)
has now been placed in Lineage 9 and has the new genus
name of Hoplisoma.Aquarium Care: This is akin to most
of this genus, very peaceful, and would be best housed
with small to medium tank mates such as Tetras, Rasboras
and Danios or in a species tank for breeding purposes.
Diet: A good quality flake food and
tablet food for adults with sporadic feedings of frozen
or live food will keep your Corydoras/Hoplisoma
in good health. Remarks:
This species is
still found on some online sources as Corydoras
sp.
(CW069).
