Another undescribed species
given the number by CorydorsWorld of CW159 in 2019.
When first introduced to the hobby the initial reaction
was that it was Corydoras urucu from the
Rio Urucu in Brazil but CW159 is a larger species
with a different body and head shape from Rio Mucuin
in Brazil. Lineage: Placed in Lineage
9, the "short-snouted" species with the
designated type species: C. punctatus. A
revision and a description in the future would constitute
the resurrection of the genus name Hoplisoma
(Agassiz, 1846). Aquarium Care: This
is akin to most of this genus, very peaceful, and
would be best housed with small to medium tank mates
such as Tetras, Rasboras and Danios or in a species
tank for breeding purposes. Diet:
A good quality flake food and tablet food for adults
with sporadic feedings of frozen or live food will
keep your Corydoras in good health.
