lateral line. Etymology: The genus
name of Tachysurus: tachys, swift; oura,
tail, referring to the presumed agility of T.
sinensis based on its “long and nimble”
tail (translation). The specific name of intermedius:
intermediate between
T. fulvidraco and “one or more related
ones on the mainland [of China] with short, slender
barbels”. Remarks:
Still found in some online sources as as Pelteobagrus
intermedius.
