SL); short adipose fin base (length of adipose fin

HL). Colouration: Body brown with
three rows of cream-coloured spots located above,
along and below lateral line. Etymology:
The genus name Nanobagrus: Latin, nannus
= small + Mozarabic bagre, Greek pagros = a fish,
Dentex sp. The specific name stellatus: from
the Latin for starred or spotted, in reference to
the pattern of cream-coloured spots on the body.
