Aquarium Care:
Keep with species that are the same size or larger
as this species can be predatory which is akin to
most bagrids. Needs a large tank with hiding places.
Diet: Will eat most prepared foods,
tablets, pellets, live and frozen foods etc.
Etymology: The genus name Leiocassis:
leios, smooth; cassis, helmet, referring to covering
of skin and muscle on head. The specific name micropogon:
micro-, small; pogon, beard, referring to eight slender
barbels. Remarks:
Leiocassis hosii has now been declared as
a synonym of L. micropogon (2021).
