I have had this group for about a year now and just let them be and did only water top off with RODI. The wild endlers and matten filter keep the water nice and clean. This evening I was looking over my sixteen aquariums and checking on fish and noticed a rikbaktsa fry about 1/4" long that came out just after feeding them some Fluval Bug Bites. As I watched, one more appeared to eat. I am thinking there could be a lot more in the structure. Below are some images and video from my tank setup.

This species was given the CorydorasWorld CW number of 154 before being described by Lima & Britto in 2020 as Corydoras rikbaktsa. As of the latest revision (Dias et al 2024) Corydoras rikbaktsa has now been placed in Lineage 9 and has the new genus name of Hoplisoma. Etymology: The specific name honours the Rikbaktsa (also known as Rikbakta or Erikbaktsa), a Jê-speaking indian nation, who formerly inhabited the area between the Rio Juruena and Rio Aripuanã in northern Mato Grosso. Their first contacts with the western world happened when they clashed and fought rubber-tappers encroaching on their territories during the 1940´s and 1950´s. They were subsequently contacted by Jesuit priests (and almost completely wiped out by contagious diseases) during the 1960´s. During the 1990´s the Rikbaktsa finally obtained the demarcation of three non-contiguous lands (Hemming, 2003). Remarks: This species is still found on some online sources as Corydoras rikbaktsa.

have six wild caught adults in my group in a local creek
sand bottomed heavily planted 20 gallon aquarium with
a Swiss Matten filter and a jetlifter with a rock pile
in the back and one large piece of Malaysian driftwood
in the middle.
